Treysen Eaglestaff - Player Bio
Treysen Eaglestaff is an emerging force in college basketball, currently competing as a versatile scoring guard for the West Virginia Mountaineers in the Big 12. Standing 6'6" with a smooth perimeter stroke and fearless scoring mentality, Eaglestaff has developed a reputation as one of the most dynamic offensive threats to rise from the mid-major ranks. His ability to score in volume—off movement, isolation, or in transition—makes him a key weapon in West Virginia’s offense.
A native of Mandan, North Dakota, Eaglestaff’s journey is shaped by both talent and heritage. An enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, he carries a proud basketball legacy. His grandfather, Robert Eaglestaff, is a member of both the University of North Dakota Athletics Hall of Fame and the Lakota Nation Hall of Fame, serving as a lasting source of inspiration.
Eaglestaff starred at Bismarck High School, becoming one of the most decorated players in state history. As a senior, he averaged over 30 points per game and became the first player from Bismarck High to win North Dakota Mr. Basketball. He continued his rise at the University of North Dakota, developing into one of the Summit League’s top guards and the focal point of the team’s offense.
His national breakout came during the 2024–25 season, highlighted by a 40-point performance against No. 6 Alabama and a historic 51-point outing in the Summit League Tournament. Those performances made him one of the most sought-after guards in the transfer portal. Now at West Virginia, Eaglestaff brings elite scoring, toughness, and confidence to a Mountaineers program aiming to climb the Big 12. Off the court, he takes pride in representing his community and heritage, serving as a role model for young athletes nationwide.
